Jamie was admitted as a solicitor in 1995 and was a Partner at both CLS and McCullough Robertson Lawyers before founding MVM Legal with Damien van Brunschot in 2008. He became a Partner in the Kaden Boriss Group in October 2013.
Jamie has over 18 years experience in occupational health and safety (OH&S), employment law and Queensland workers compensation.
Jamie has acted for a wide range of corporations in the construction, property, logistics, environmental services, leisure and energy sectors, as well as major state Government agencies and authorities.
In addition to OH&S expertise, Jamie is recognised as a leading personal injuries lawyer in Queensland and has been instrumental in developing one of the State's largest WorkCover and self-insurance practices. This is testimony to his expertise, client rapport, relationship building and commitment to being directly accessible to his clients at all times.
In the area of employment law, Jamie's experience includes advising and representing major corporations and State Government authorities before various Courts and Tribunals, including the former Australian Industrial Relations Commission, the Fair Work Commission and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. His employment law advice spans termination of employment, unfair dismissal and investigations - particularly in relation to psychiatric injuries involving allegations of bullying, discrimination and harassment.
Jamie has worked with HR/People and Culture departments in a range of organisations drafting workplace policies and procedures and advising on OH&S in the workplace.
