Relevant Experience

  • Damien has extensive experience working with insurance clients across all areas of litigation, having worked for two national law firms before founding MVM Legal in 2008. Damien became a Partner of Kaden Boriss in October 2013 after the Brisbane firm joined the Kaden Boriss network.
  • Damien's expertise encompasses all aspects of insurance litigation including workers compensation, public liability, medical negligence, product liability, CTP and professional indemnity claims. Damien also has expertise and experience in employment law, fraud prosecutions and asbestos litigation.
  • As a recognised expert in the field of personal injuries law, Damien is regularly invited to present papers to industry groups and key stakeholders on WorkCover reforms, psychiatric injuries and fraud prosecutions.
  • In the area of employment law, Damien has advised and represented major corporations in discrimination and harassment claims. He has, in addition, worked with HR professionals in various corporations assisting them in drafting workplace policies and procedures. He has acted for employers in investigating and addressing claims for psychiatric injury including allegations of bullying and harassment in the workplace.
  • With a Masters of Law specialising in insurance litigation and alternative dispute resolution, Damien is recognised within the industry as a leading Queensland personal injury lawyer and an experienced negotiator. Damien regularly uses alternative dispute resolution processes in both pre-proceedings and litigated claims to achieve early and appropriate outcomes for his clients.
  • Damien was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1996 and holds graduate and postgraduate qualifications in law.
